Today we began our look into the life and work of NewZealand icon, Philip Clairmont. Before we use any materials we always begin with a splash of art history. Today we watched a mini documentary on the life of our focus artist. We learned a lot about his passion, style and choices of subjects.
After discussing how challenging the life if an artist must have been in the 80's. we began to construct our own artwork. This oil pastel work is based on the magical painting called ' the scarred couch'.
