Inquiry

Today we got stuck into our inquiry assignment. We looked at how to create a title page in 2 minutes!! that was a challenge but really opened the children's eye about spending time on the important things instead of the bells and whistles. Then we looked at creating quality research and interview questions with the aim of drawing out ideas and understanding from others.
The year 7's will base their inquiry on the Treaty of Waitangi and the year 8's can choose an agreement which they are interested in. I was impressed with the Year 8's ideas, some are doing the declaration of independence, the human rights bill, the end of the apartheid and the Kyoto protocol. The Yr7's worked hard to develop their understanding about the inquiry process and expectations. well done.
