Report writing

Today we enjoyed reading some more of the novel Hatchet, by Gary Paulsen. We decided that if this happened in real life that there would be a press release about the plane crash and the intended search for 13 year old Brian Roberson. The children used their report criteria (which they designed themselves) to create a short news story or press release outlining the events so far. They focused on including relevant factual information and attention grabbing language.
