Today in literacy we have been concentrating on Tony Ryan's thinking keys. In particular the What If? key. Our subject of choice was animal farm. We started off by creating questions such as: "What if Boxer was never sent to the Knackers?" and "What if Jessie's puppies had never been taken?". We then set about writing about what the story could have been, focusing on the subtle aspects in the story. This was a really fun activity it allowed us to explore the key defining moments and events . It was a really effective way of brainstorming ideas for alternate narratives and showed off our intellectual side!!!
