Our Eggsperiment

For science this week room 22 did a experiment with eggs, water, salt, sugar and water. We found that when we added salt or sugar to the water and the eggs floated.

Usually the eggs will sink, as they are denser than clean water. But when salt or sugar is added, the water becomes denser than the egg and the egg floats.
The learning intention for this experiment was 'We are learning to make meaning from observations and experimentation.'

While we participated in this lesson we had to work together as 'scientists' to make meaning out of what we already might know about the different substances we were using. We had to observe, compare, reflect, discuss, test and evaluate.

This experiment really helped us with our science fairs and taught us the difference between an experiment and a science fair. It was really enjoyable and we all had such different hypothesis and ideas.

Techni-craft science is awesome.
