David Attinborough watch out!

We have some pretty extraordinary children in room 22 and today a small group got to become their own Natural Earth TV production company.

Their quest is to create a "Planet Earth' style documentary exploring life within the Eastbourne Rocky Shore eco-system. The children are working in 2 small groups and are totally responsible for organising how they will tackle this task. This will put their information gathering, research, time management and technology skills to the test.

Here is how they got on today:

"Today our group started planning and researching our "plan of attack". We had to break down the week into a task time-line so that we would know exactly how much time we had to allocate for each stage of the documentary process.

We walked to windy point to take photos of the many plants (flora) and animals (fauna) we could find at the local rocky shore and started researching what species we found. Tomorrow we will probably head to the days bay rock pools as we believe there will be much more living there.

The best part is being in charge of our task time-line and how we organise our day. It's awesome that we are allowed to chose the pace we work at, but we are also accountable to Ms Berry who checks in on our progress often. We also have to reflect on what we achieved at the end of each day, if there are any problems which have arisen during the day we then decide how we will solve them. Our time-line is always changing as we work, it's flexible but it gives us a good guide".
