First we painted in the backgrounds, tables and vase. tomorrow we will begin the flowers. We are using the templates so that we can concentrate on our painting technique. The next artwork we do will be a focus on drawing and painting our own still life.

Painting In The Wind
Today we began to explore the impressionist style of Vincent Van Gogh. We focused on creating bold brush strokes and allowing the audience to see each layer of colour. Vincent Van Gogh painted in the era when photography was beginning to become more accessible to the public. He decided that he wanted to create art ,which unlike other painters of the time, was not perfect. Vincent felt that if people wanted to have the perfect image then they could take a photo. His art showed his own 'impression' of what he saw. He was revolutionary and dedicated to his vision of what painters could achieve.

Beautiful stuff room 14. Your work is so impressive and you should be really proud of what you have achieved in this van Gogh study.
