We Built This City...

Today we began a visual arts exploration of perspective and technique.  We began by building small cities out of construction blocks down the center of each table.  Next each child sketched what they saw- focusing on 3d perspective and consistent lines.
Once they had a sough outline of the 'block street' they were able to start blocking in buildings and adding street  signs, trees, windows, spires, people, sidewalks etc...
Next we will add small areas of colour which will create the idea of greenbelts.

It was brilliant fun...

I found it really fun how we had to build things with the blocks and then sketch them. I think i am much better at drawing 3D shapes now.
