Visually, beautifully, carefully composed
The continued sun brings with it 'Arts Week', a focused look at New Zealand's
contemporary Artists. This week the children are learning about still life painting, what it is and how it is composed. We are paying
particular attention to Kiwi artist Lex Benson-Cooper. We are exploring
how to use fine paint brushes to create detailed backgrounds which
replicate 1950's wallpaper, before launching into our fore-ground of
still life. The children discussed the 'Kiwi Dream' many immigrants had
when setting off to make a new life in NZ in the early 1950's -a house
with land - 'the Quarter acre dream', This will be the launching pad for
our artwork. Enjoy these beautiful paintings as they begin to come to life.
