Each child used a white board and drew their own Riskometer. Ms Berry wrote up the sentence "A man walked up a hill". She then talked about how the sentence was quite short, and used very safe and basic vocabulary. She used her Riskometer to measure her writing. It was quite low on the scale. Next we all re wrote the sentence, focusing on trying to risk take with our vocabulary and punctuation . At the end we shared our writing with a buddy and marked ourselves on our Riskometers. We are also learning how to use a buddy to tap out loud our writing to help us with punctuation. It was an exciting way to learn about extending our writing skills.
