Zooming In for Focused Writing

We will use these observations to help craft an exciting piece of narrative writing.

Today we used a technique called zooming in and zooming out. This is a specific way to get children to focus on the details of a scene and the big picture of the setting. The children worked in groups to contribute their observations then wrote individually to capture the essence of a static image.
