Today for narrative writing we looked at writing a quick narrative using unrelated picture prompts ( see photo's). The children had to select their vocabulary carefully so a s not to overuse adjectives or waffle, link each scene into their story making seamless transitions and incorporating various objects and characters as they write. We referred to the criteria for short stories and focused on wrapping our stories up to satisfy the reader. The author we used to model this nonsensicle way of writing was Shaun Tan's 'tales from outer suburbia'.
