In literacy our class has been focusing on narrative writing. We have been focusing on a writing style known as reminiscing. Ms Berry has also been reading Animal Farm to us, by George Orwell, A book about a group of animals that take over the farm they live on, driving away all humans. It mirrors the Russian Revolution. As a narrative writing task we were asked to speak from the perspective of a character. Here is some of the writing we have produced.
I'm warning you, this is not a nice story. Well nothing in this world really is. Either your under power, or your destroyed by it. But before I tell you my story, I'll introduce myself. I, am The Cat, the shadow. I see, but am not seen. I know EVERYTHING, I have witnessed EVERYTHING. From where I am now, I can see Clover. I swear she is crying. This is not what Old Major would have wanted. This is not what would have, could have, should have been. It had seemed so different when Old Major had spelled it out, so pure. Why didn't it work? Because absolute power corrupts absolutely.......
